In partnership with Connecticut Foodshare, United Way of Greater New Haven will host a bi-weekly mobile pantry for Hamden families! Join us as we partner with local community gardens in New Haven. Come get your hands dirty and help support and maintain a community garden, ensuring our neighbors have access to locally grown food! Volunteers will be asked to do the following: Clear and pull weeds Spread mulch Pick up sticks and trash around the garden Be on their feet for the majority of our time together Carry or lift items weighing up to 30 lbs Walk on uneven surfaces
North Haven Diaper Bank Donation Sorting: Tuesdays [Monthly], 9AM - 11AM
Lend a hand at the CT Diaper Bank! Volunteers are needed to help sort, count, repackage, label, and box diapers and other hygiene products before they are distributed to families in need. This event is currently on hold for the month of July. Volunteers will be asked to do the following: Lift boxes weighing 15-20 pounds Break down boxes Be on their feet for long periods (chairs are available for anyone who might need one)
