Join us as we partner with Gather New Haven to get our hands dirty and help maintain a community garden in New Haven! Volunteers will be asked to do the following: Clear and pull weeds Spread mulch Pick up sticks and trash around the garden Be on their feet for the majority of our time together Carry or lift items weighing up to 30 lbs Walk on uneven surfaces
Lend a hand at the CT Diaper Bank! Volunteers are needed to help sort, count, repackage, label, and box diapers and other hygiene products before they are distributed to families in need. Volunteer Shifts Include: Tuesday, September 2nd, 9 AM - 11 AM Volunteers will be asked to do the following: Lift boxes weighing 15-20 pounds Break down boxes Be on their feet for long periods (chairs are available for anyone who might need one)
To help local students feel confident and prepared for the school year, United Way of Greater New Haven is hosting a Back-to-School Supply Drive to support children throughout our community. You can help make a difference by signing up to collect new, unopened school supplies. By providing these essential items, we can help students begin the academic year equipped and ready to succeed. Grocery Bag Packing, Friday 08/15, 12:30 - 2 PM
Friday 08/15, 12:30 - 2PM Sign up to pack grocery bags that will be distributed at four New Haven sites! Please note that packing will occur outside at Central Kitchen in New Haven. Volunteer roles: Baggers: Bag different food items Stockers: Replenish food items during the packing shift (boxes and other items may weigh up to 25 pounds) Truck loaders: Take packed bags and load them onto the trucks that will transport the food to one of four sites Volunteers will be asked to do the following: Set-up folding
