Join us for this year's Week of Caring! Let's come together to give back and strengthen our community through collective service. This year's projects include closing out summer camp, refreshing shelter spaces to make them more welcoming, and learning across generations about growing food! Your participation makes a huge difference, whether you join us on your own, with colleagues, or friends and family.
Together we can build a stronger and more connected community!
Monday, 9/28, 9 AM - 11 AM Join us for an end of summer clean up at the Soundview Family YMCA. Volunteers will help clean up camp, pull weeds, plant new flowers, and more!
Tuesday, 9/29, 10 AM - 12 PM Help refresh New Reach's Portsea House! This is a youth supportive housing facility serves formerly homeless clients ages 18 through 24. Volunteers will apply a fresh coat of paint to parts of the facility and clean up the building's exterior. During this event, volunteers will participate in the following activities: Indoor jobs: Painting common areas/hallways Outdoor jobs: Trimming and pruning bushes Liter pick up Weeding
Wednesday, 9/30, 10 AM - 12 PM Help us as we partner with Columbus House to clean up the exterior of two shelters in New Haven! Volunteers will clean up and tend to Harkness & Davenport House in New Haven. Harkness House provides transitional housing and support for male Veterans experiencing homelessness, while Recovery House provides short-term housing and support for men awaiting placement in sober, treatment, or permanent housing. Saturday, 10/3, 10 AM - 11:30 AM Bring the whole family to our Family Day at Davenport Community Garden! Families with young children are invited to learn how to start a garden through a fun demonstration, followed by a hands-on garden cleanup. It’s a great opportunity for kids to learn, get outside, and give back to their community!
