Holiday Volunteers Opportunities (3)

This holiday season, we invite you to join us in making a meaningful difference in our community! In collaboration with F.I.S.H. of Greater New Haven and Vertical Church, United Way of Greater New Haven is hosting food distributes to get hundreds of turkeys out to our community, and we need your help to make it happen! We also are hosting other events during the holiday season like helping us sort toy donations for children in our childcare centers!

Toy Drive Donation Sorting (New Haven) - Tuesday, 12/10, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Tuesday, 12/10, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM In partnership with the Shops at Yale, United Way of Greater New Haven is hosting a toy drive for infants and toddlers ages 0-3 enrolled in our Early Head Start (EHS) program. After all donations are collected, we will need help sorting, inventorying, and preparing donations before we deliver them to childcare providers! Turkey Packing (New Haven) - Saturday, 11/23, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Saturday, 11/23, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM Sign up and help pack Thanksgiving bags before they are delivered to families. Volunteers will pack frozen turkeys into thermal bags and help load up drivers' cars before they deliver Thanksgiving bags across our communities. Volunteers will be asked to do the following: Unbox turkeys Bag individual turkeys into thermal bags Load up cars with turkeys and additional grocery staples Please note that some activities during this event will involve standing up for long periods
Atwater Senior Center Thanksgiving Food Distribution (New Haven) - Friday, 11/22, 8:45 AM - 11 AM
Friday, 11/22, 8:45 AM - 11 AM Volunteer and help distribute turkeys to seniors at Atwater Senior Center in New Haven! Activities will include: Setting up tables for the food pantry Distributing turkeys and other grocery staples This will include lifting items that may weigh up to 25 lbs. Breaking down boxes and cleaning up once the food pantry ends Please note that some activities during this event will involve standing up for long periods of time and lifting items weighing up to 25 lbs.
